Unitronic’s Audi Takes Weekend Racing in Canada
What an exciting weekend of racing for the team at JDC-Miller Motorsport & Unitronic in their Unitronic powered Audi RS3. Drivers Taylor and Casey recovered from being down one lap to take the last minute victory on their home turf in Canada.
Qualifying the Unitronic No 17 Audi RS3 with a lap time of 1.23.975 which was five tenths of a second clear of the next TCR competitor and placed 7th out of a field of 38 cars.
Starting off the race Taylor put a multi second lead which was maintained for 1 hour and 10 minutes, he finally took the car into the pit lane 11 seconds clear of the next TCR. But during the driver change multiple issues arose. The fire bottle went off inside the car covering the whole interior in a powdered substance making it hard for Casey to see. “I thought it was all over for us then.” said Taylor.
With about 45 minutes remaining, Casey was able to take the car from one lap down in the 8th position to 4th and knew the win could be within reach. As the final moments of the race drew near, Casey pulled off a daring move around the outside of turn 2 to take the lead.
Unitronic No 17 Audi RS3 LMS will be back at it on the track at Road American 120 in Elkhart Lake, WI. We wish the team continued success on their quest to dominate this racing season.
