Waterfest 25 Atco Dragway Marks 25th Anniversary

Late July, we will be heading over to Atco, NJ to setup our booth at Waterfest 25 scheduled for July 20-21, 2019 at the Atco Dragway in Atco, New Jersey.

Celebrating its 25^th year, Waterfest 25 is a Volkswagen and Audi car Show and motorsport event.

Event Details

The two-day event includes:

• A Burn Out
• Drag Race
• Dyno
• Exhibition
• Show Car
• Sound Off
• Swap Meet
• Afterfest

Burn Out Event

If you have experience with performing burnouts in parking lots, then it’s time to show the world what you can do in an actual competition on the venue’s drag strip. The driver is required to wear a helmet. If you wish to participate, but don’t have a helmet you can rent one for $3.00.

People who wish to participate must register on the Waterfest25 website.

Drag Race

Drag races are scheduled to occur on Saturday, July 21 and Sunday, July 22. There are three brackets on each day.

• Bracket 1 – 16.50 and slower
• Bracket 2 – 14.50 – 16.49
• Bracket 3 – 14.49 and quicker

Dyno Event

The Dyno Event will measure how much horsepower can be laid down to the ground by the challengers. Both two wheel and AWD vehicles are welcome.

Each day of the Waterfest will include this event. There will be two Dyno Events per day.

The first session of the first day will occur from 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. The second session will be at 3:00 P.M. to 5;00 P.M.

The first session of the second day will be  at 9:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The second session will be at 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Car Exhibition

Owners of Volkswagens and Audis who do not want their car judged are invited to participate in a car exhibition. If you wish to participate you are required to register on the Waterfest 25 website.

Members of a Waterfest authorized car club receive a $5 discount on the registration fee. To determine if you are a member of an authorized car club, visit the Waterfest website. On the page with the registration form there is a pull-down menu that lists authorized car clubs.

If you belong to a VW/Audi related club that has at least 20 members and its own website and you want your club to be an authorized Waterfest car club, have a club officer email Waterfest at [email protected] an Excel spreadsheet with the first and last names of each club member.

Show Car Event

The show car event is scheduled for Sunday, July 21^st.  It is expected to feature more than 450 Volkswagens and Audis. Each car will be scored based on points received for seven categories.

• Exterior Quality – 15 points.
• Interior Quality – 15 points.
• Mechanical Quality – 15 points.
• Suspension Quality – 15 points.
• Cleanliness 15 points.
• Overall Concept And Integration – 15 points.
• Display – 5 points.

Each show car is placed into a class based on the complexity and amount of modification performed on the car. The classifications are:

• Stock – no or almost no modifications
• Mod 1 – Lightly Modified
• Mod 2- Heavily Modified
• Super Modified – Extremely modified.

The show car event is scheduled for Sunday, July 21^st , 2019.

Sound Off

The sound systems of competing cars will be judged. Each car will get two runs. The cars competing in the sound off will be divided into three classes:

• Stock 1-160-sq. in.
• Stock 161 – 260 sq. in
• Stock 261-360 sq. in.

The Sound Off is scheduled for Sunday, July 21^st, 2019.

Swap Meet

An area of the site will be dedicated for the sale of used car parts. The swap meet will be held on Saturday, July 20^th, 2019.

There will also be a vendor area on the site where new car parts will be sold.

Afterfest

An official Waterfest after party will be held at the site on Saturday, July 20^th, 2019 from 6;00 P.M. TO 11:00 P.M..
