Audi R8 Catches Fire at Supercar Show!
The Audi R8 packs the power and the numbers to claim supercar status, though there are still some who do not categorize it as one. Recently, an Audi R8 followed in the crispy tracks of the Ferrari 458, catching fire during the 2013 Parx Supercar Show in India! In Ferrari’s defense, the 458 fire issue was corrected immediately with superior customer service.
The soundtrack for this event is fantastic…
Onlookers at the 2013 Parx Supercar Show in India received an unexpected show when an Audi R8 burst into flames!
The Audi R8 was not a part of the supercar show, but it certainly stole the show when it burst into flames! The car was crossing the Bandra Worli Sea Link along with the parade of supercars when the engine compartment caught fire, quickly engulfing the sports car.
The Audi R8 packs a potent 4.2-liter pushing out 430 horses at 7,900 rpm. There are V8 and V10 variants available and the 0-60 jump is 4.6 seconds, though that time seems conservative.
What exactly caused the Audi R8 to catch on fire is not immediately clear, and some are speculating faulty aftermarket tuning and tweaking. It is never a good idea to go for just any aftermarket hype, while discounts are certainly great, when it comes to a high dollar sports car like the Audi R8, special attention must be paid to the quality of the high-performance add-ons and the experience of the company. You get what you pay for, as always.
The charred remains of the R8 attracted the masses
It must have been a rush to drive in the pack of hypercars, and is unfortunate that the R8 suffered such a burning letdown! The spitfire R8 was not a part of the show, instead stealing the limelight and headlines!
