Often the high-performance aftermarket tuners are overlooked, even when they create a monster–like the VW Golf 16Vampir! The VW Golf 16Vampir (Vampire?) twists out enough torque to rocket it from 62 miles per hour up to 122 in 3.1 seconds. It is the world’s fastest competing Golf in the quarter mile, with a record of 165 mph in 8.65 seconds.
One just does not think of a Volkswagen Golf as a possible competitor to a hypercar, giving this little guy the advantage of surprise. The list of amazing speed demons is relatively exclusive, though a few talented tuners do snag headlines here and there. The VW Golf is one of the best small daily drivers available, and it is certainly among the most exciting to tweak with high-performance parts!
