The Audi R8 Facelift and 2013 Variants
The Audi R8 has already been around for seven years. Now that it has some miles on it, it has recently received a bit of a facelift! It is now dubbed the R8 2.0 and boasts some extravagant tweaks, all quite subtle overall. What do you think of the next Audi R8 facelift?
It has only taken the Audi R8 seven years to achieve icon status. The rendering above is the next gen coupe.
The R8 looks fantastic in both coupe and convertible form, and in any color under the sun. Which interior aftermarket tweaks would you make to the R8 if the exterior were red?
The Audi R8 facelift features high-end LED headlamps and day driving light bands. These will be standard for all engine variants of the next R8. Variants of the R8 will include an R8 V10 plus, a V8 and the regular R8 V10. Horsepower varies from 430 up to 550 for the big boy. The revealed and revamped 2013 R8 fleet includes a seven-speed S-tronic transmission to replace the awful R-tronic and a new flagship V10.
The new S-tronic engages two mult-plate clutches. Each clutch engages with two independent sub-transmissions and alternately selects gears. This design results in smoother shifts that occur in hundredths of a second.
As always, the changes are subtle and tastefully achieved. The revised front bumper and grille coupled with a slightly larger rear diffuser are the easiest bits to pick up on.
The R8 was made to be enhanced with high-performance parts.
