Volkswagen Prepares for Yet Another SUV Launch in the US Market

We all know many auto manufacturers are ramping up the SUV and cross over model lineups in the United States as demand for this class of vehicle is on the rise while sedans are kinda dropping off.

Spy shots have been secured of the Volkswagen Tarek which is an in between of the VW T-Cross (non US market) and the Tiguan in the cross over lineup and a direct competitor of such cars as the Jeep Compass. This vehicle is already available in the China market branded as the Tharu but the plans for the US Tarek will be a bit more robust according to VW.

Prices for this mid sized cross over should be somewhere in the mid $30,000 mark and if they maintain the hardware found in other markets it will most likely see a 1.4TSI engine making about 148hp and 184tq and feature a six speed transmission. All wheel drive may or may not be available.
